Who Is Robin Perky Kelley…

For so long I saw myself as just an ordinary woman with nothing that set me apart from anyone else, and lately I have become aware I’m not the only one who feels this way. “I am just. I am just a wife. I am just a mother. I am just a teacher. I am just, just, just, just, just…”

If you don’t read anything else on this blog, I hope you get this message: Nothing could be further from the truth, ladies. We are not “just” anything. We are each a priceless masterpiece lovingly fashioned by the same Creator who paints the sky with beautiful sunsets every day yet He calls us His beloved. It is us He desires to fellowship with. It is us He loves with a love so unfathomable He sacrificed His Son so we have the opportunity to bind that relationship together completely for all eternity. To Him we never have and never will be “just”.

Who we are and what we do is our way of loving and worshiping Him. The fact that I am not perfect does not change any of that. As I look back over my life from the shy little girl who grew up in a tiny town in the Oklahoma Panhandle with wonderfully caring and nurturing parents and two tender-hearted and hilariously funny brothers to the Nana who sits writing this today, I am struck by how intricately His love, grace and mercy are woven from beginning to end without missing a stitch – through my failures and imperfections, He was there every time. So I have come to the conclusion that who I am is not so much about me as it is about who HE is in my life.

He is my creator – my Savior – my Heavenly Father.

He knows me – my name – my inmost thoughts – my fears.

He loves me – protects me – leads me..

He knows my faults – my failures – my weaknesses and loves me anyway..

He forgives me – He walks with me – He gave His life for me..

I am nothing without Him.

I can do nothing without Him.

But with Him I am a daughter of the King!
