Why Pearls On My Pillow

You have collected all my tears in a bottle.   Psalms 56:8

Think about that for a second.  Little drops of moisture that fall from our eyes are so precious to Him that He collects each and every one and saves it.  Ironically enough, our society often considers tears a sign of weakness to be kept hidden for fear they expose our vulnerability.

Whether they are tears of sadness or joy, disappointment or victory, fear or relief. . . He sees them – sees us – and understands our heart. Motherhood provides us a plethora of occasions to cry.  The list of reasons is long, but by His Devine design, they each serve an important purpose.  Sometimes our tears cleanse our broken heart or wounded soul.   Sometimes they are a sign of our spiritual growth. They may represent our most intimate worship of Him or our deepest gratitude to Him.  They are always a gift that we can unabashedly share with Him no matter what the circumstances.

He gently collects each teardrop as He walks with us through every trial and every triumph they represent.  Even when we don’t understand, we can be confident that when the time is right, He will give them back to us as beautiful pearls more magnificent than we could ever imagine on our own.  May we give Him the glory for these precious pearls and the bountiful blessings they represent.  May we never take them for granted or negate the process it took to produce them.  And may we always recognize the Creator of our tears and the blessings they produce.
