Welcome!

For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
2 Corinthians 2:15
Have you ever had a simple smell trigger a memory? This verse made me think about the honeysuckle outside the front door of my childhood home. When it was in bloom, the sweet fragrance enveloped me every time I walked across that threshold. Over time that scent came to represent home to me and filled me with a sense of belonging and unconditional love. To this day I still feel warm and peaceful every time I smell honeysuckle. On the other hand, the smell of brown sugar and coconut remind me of a box book report gone bad in fifth grade. My response to these smells is directly tied to my personal experiences both good and bad.. We all have our own set of scent triggers tied to our individual experiences.
But what could all of that possibly have to do with being the aroma of Christ to God and the people around me? By definition a pleasant aroma is called a fragrance and an unpleasant smell is called and odor. If we are the aroma of Christ to God, we must ask ourselves if we are a fragrance or an odor. First, however, we must know what that means.
Therefore, through him let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise. That is the fruit of lips that confess his name. Don’t neglect to do what is right and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
Hebrews 13:15-16
We make fragrant offerings to God in many different ways. When we proclaim Him as Lord, we offer Him a sacrifice of faith. Everything we say and everything we do is an offering to Him. There are many ways we can be a fragrant offering. Th desire of my heart is to be a fragrant, pleasing sacrifice to Him. This blog explores the ways we can be a fragrant sacrifice that honors God and represents Him to the people around us. I am so glad you are here to make this journey with me. Come on in!
